'It's the one thing I cannot live without': The $8 Australian beauty product Meghan Markle describes as her 'cure-all' when travelling
- Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are currently in Sydney for their Australian tour
- By chance one of her favourite beauty products is from the land Down Under too
- She revealed her cure-all item is a bottle of Thursday Plantation's tea tree oil
- The 37-year-old uses it on a cut, mosquito bite and small breakouts on her face
- Previously, she has also opened up about her best tips for preventing jet lag
It's been hailed by Meghan Markle as the 'one thing' she can't live without.
But the Duchess of Sussex, who announced her pregnancy during the first day of her Australian tour on Monday, will have to be careful using the 'cure-all' beauty product of choice - because it's not safe to apply during the first trimester.
In an interview with Allure last year, Meghan said she counts a $8 bottle of Australian brand Thursday Plantation's tea trea oil as 'the one thing she can't live without'.

Meghan Markle is currently on her first International tour of Australia with husband Prince Harry, and in an exciting turn of events, the couple have announced she's pregnant

In an interview with Allure last year, Meghan said she counts an $8 bottle of Australian brand Thursday Plantation's tea trea oil as 'the one thing she can't live without'
'It's not the most glamorous thing, but if you get a cut, a mosquito bite, a small breakout, no matter what it is, it's my little cure-all. It's inexpensive, it's small enough to carry on, and I bring it with me all the time,' she explained at the time.
According to experts pregnant women should never apply essential oils in their first trimester, and there are some that should be avoided throughout the nine month period entirely, Baby Centre reported.
Because tea tree is highly concentrated Meghan would likely have to consult her doctor before applying it or at the very least dilute it.
Yesterday the royals landed in Sydney after a 22-hour flight from England, so FEMAIL took a look back at some of the 37-year-old's best jet lag tips.

The 37-year-old wrote up her best tips on now defunct lifestyle blog 'The Tig', sharing some of the ingenious ways she gets shut-eye on a long-haul trip
Firstly, Meghan recommends setting up for success by starting her routine mid-flight.
While she is not a 'germaphobe', she does pack wet wipes or hand sanitiser in her on-board luggage to wipe down her seat.
'That includes the little TV, the service tray, and all the buttons around your seat. Sure, the person next to you may give you a side eye, but at the end of the flight, you'll be the one whistling dixie with nary a sniffle,' she wrote at the time.

Once the surfaces around you are spotless Meghan rubs a little antibiotic treatment called Neosporin into her nose

'Not only does it create a barrier for germs, it also lubricates the skin in the nose. That's important because when the skin cracks, germs can come a running in, so the coating of the Neosporin doubly protects you,' she said of the Neosporin

While the Duchess of Sussex flew from England to Australia on a Qantas A380 flight - which would have provided her with a blanket and eye mask - the royal said she always brings a scarf along in the off-chance the airline doesn't have them.
She said the trick always made it feel like she was being given a 'hug' and made it easier to get some sleep.

When she's awake on the aircraft Meghan will take a probiotic and drink a few litres of water to keep her body nourished and hydrated.
'Always travel with a high strain probiotic, and hydrate like you're dying of thirst - because even if you're not, for your body the thirst is real. This dynamic duo of probiotics and aqua will keep your gut health in check and honestly stave off jet lag if you're globetrotting on your travails,' she said.
Once you're off the plane she will then complete the journey by eating around the same time the locals will, to trick her body into thinking it hasn't traversed thousands of miles.
Because they landed on Monday morning Meghan would already have eaten breakfast along with her entourage, before resting for a few hours until lunch.
