Four start-ups – Graymatics, Visio Ingenii, Deep Vision AI and Orbo AI – have showcased their products and solutions to top officials of Otis executives at the Demo Day held at T-Hub, a tech start-up incubator.

The Demo Day was held at the end of the six-week Innovation Challenge conducted by elevators and escalators firm Otis. The challenge attracted start-ups from 14 countries. Of these, four start-ups were shortlisted for the Innovation Challenge.

“The start-ups have got the chance to scale-up by developing a proof of concept for a specific use case defined by Otis, with a funding of up to $10,000 each,” Vijay Jayachandran, Vice-President, Global Components and Technologies of Otis, said.

“The PoCs were based on smart solutions across functions that aim to improve the efficiency and utilisation of elevators and escalators,” he said.

The solutions were built on emerging technologies such as computer vision, signal processing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, neural networks, facial recognition systems and crowd detection.

“The winning start-ups will continue to further develop the PoCs by accessing Otis’ and T-Hub’s network of mentors, investors and other stakeholders,” Srinivas Kollipara, Chief Executive Officer of T-Hub, said in a statement on Tuesday.
