Sterling breaks goal drought to star in 3-2 win over Spain

Raheem Sterling broke his 1102-day goal-drought for England in style, scoring a brace in their 3-2 UEFA Nations League win against Spain at Seville.

Sterling scored twice, on either side of Marcus Rashford’s goal, as Spain conceded three goals before half-time for the first time at home.

Paco Alcacer pulled a goal back near the hour mark after coming on as a substitute and Sergio Ramos scored from the final play of the match, but they were only able to add a modicum of respectability to the score line.

In another League A match on Monday, Iceland lost to Switzerland 2-1 at home. With three defeats in three games, Iceland will now be relegated to the second-tier League B for the next edition of Nations League.
