Ujjain: UDA clerk gets 3 yrs rigorous imprisonment in graft case


Ujjain development authority (UDA) clerk Love Mehta was sentenced by special judge LD Solanki to three years rigorous imprisonment and a cash penalty of Rs 5,000. The case was registered against the accused by Lokayutkta police under Sections 13 and 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act on the complaint lodged by Hira Malviya on December 26, 2012. According to plaintiff the accused asked Rs 1,000 bribe for forwarding his file to the seniors related with allotment of a plot in Ambedkar Nagar. SP Lokayukta Geetesh Garg informed that the accused was nabbed red-handed by the then deputy police superintendent Padamsingh Baghel. The case was investigated by inspector Basant Shrivastava.
