They called off their engagement one week ago, and Ariana Grande has reportedly already returned her $100K pear-shaped engagement ring to Pete Davidson. 

According to TMZ, 25-year-old Ariana's ring was a one-off design 3.03 carat diamond set in platinum - but she happily handed it back to her ex.

However, all is not lost, as she is getting to keep their adopted teacup pig, Piggy Smallz, which she bought in the first place.

This can't have been easy for Pete who was such a fan of the addition to their family, that he had a tattoo of him inked onto his torso.  

The latest comes after the couple called time on their five-month romance - they got engaged after just four weeks.

Both parties have acknowledged it simply 'wasn't the right time for them', amid claims the shock death of her ex, Mac Miller on September 7, from an 'overdose,' was a 'breaking point' for the couple.

Sources say that the duo, who went public with their romance in May, 'still have love for each other, but things are over romantically.'

Meanwhile, Ariana's brother Frankie, 35, has urged her to 'keep on breathing' following the end of her engagement.  

He said on his Instagram Story: 'Good morning to my beautiful, beautiful sister. I love you so much and you're with me right now in Iceland.'

 He then started singing along to Ariana's song 'breathin', which was playing in the background, and added: 'You know you gotta keep, keep on breathing. That's true.'

Moreover, The Blast reported that sources close to the former couple said that Ariana 'needs time to 'work on herself.''

Pete, 24, and Ariana confirmed their engagement in June after dating for a matter of weeks.

It's been a difficult time for the God Is A Woman hitmaker as she dealt with the sudden death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller last month, who she split up with shortly before embarking on a romance with the Saturday Night Live funny man.

Miller was found dead from a suspected drugs overdose at his home in Los Angeles on September 7.  The Self Care rapper dated Grande from 2016 until May of 2018.

The same month of their breakup, Miller crashed his Mercedes SUV into a pole and fled the scene. He was later arrested for a DUI and hit and run. 

At the time of his DUI, trolls harassed Grande online and blamed her for causing him to drive under the influence.

Sources told TMZ, 'Ariana was in an incredibly dark place afterwards. She didn't blame herself.

'In the aftermath of Mac's death, our sources say Ariana realized a couple of things -- she couldn't be fully invested in her relationship with Pete, and she had rushed into a looming marriage way too fast by getting engaged.' 

'She feels she did everything she could to get him sober, but it left her an emotional wreck.'

The songstress is said to have been an 'incredible' support to the artist, who passed away at only 26-years-old, as he struggled with sobriety, according to Mac's close friend Shane Powers.

[Ariana] was an unbelievably stabilizing force in his life,' the actor explained as he opened up on his podcast The Shane Show Monday.

'There was no one in his life more ready to go to the wall for him when it came to him being sober,' Shane said of the God Is A Woman singer's dedication.

Mac's close friend divulged a few details about the couple's relationship, sharing: 'They were very much in love and I have to say, she was incredible when he was first sobering up.'

'She was a f***ing G to him. There could not have been anybody more supportive of him being sober than Ariana. I saw that, I was around it. I took phone calls from her. "How do I help," "what do I do?"'

Following his passing, Ariana was victimized by Mac's fans online who held her responsible for his apparent overdose.

On the day that the news broke of his death, the singer was forced to disable the comments on her Instagram account due to the vicious and vile comments by trolls.    

The relationship was clearly a passionate one and in August, Pete shocked with a rather crass comment about his then, bride-to-be.

When performing at Auburn University, a fan asked him about what it's like being with Ariana.

'What’s it like being engaged to Ariana?' he responded.

Pete also spoke about Ariana on SNL, saying: ''I'm a very, very lucky guy...I get it. Some people are meant to be together and some people aren't, even if they're good people, some people are not good in relationships together. And I just think we're supposed to be together.'

He continued. 'I get it. I was j***ing off to her before I met her! I've been there. I've been in the other shoes. Who knew I was practicing this whole time [for our relationship.]?'

While things are over for now, the fiery couple haven't ruled out the possibility of rekindling their romance in the future, sources also told the site.

When the couple were last pictured together on October 10 in New York, Pete's bunny ear tattoo that he got in the summer to honor his now former flame was covered up and had been transformed into a heart. 

Over the summer the couple moved into a swanky $16million apartment in Manhattan.

Pete discussed the couple's relationship and their new apartment in August during an interview with GQ.

He said: 'GQ wouldn't hit me up if I didn't recently get engaged to a super-famous person.'

Talking about his then girlfriend, she said: 'She's really sweet. She's like, "This is our house," and I'm like, "You're very nice for saying that. Thank you for letting me stay here."'

He added: 'She's like, "We're getting married!" And I'm like, "I know, thank you for letting me stay here."'

The question of where Pete will get to stay moving forward has yet to be answered. 

Social media has gone wild since the news was announced, with fans telling Ariana, they knew the couple would be doomed. 

Others started a now-deleted 'GoFundMe page in which they raised money for Pete to get a new place to live. 

Others defended the star as she has clearly been through a lot of late, following Mac's passing in particular.

Ariana and Pete both bowed out of appearing at the Emmy Awards in September due to her desire to stay away from the spotlight.

The SNL star was nominated for and won the award for Variety Sketch Series that night along with the cast of the show but was not there to accept the award.   

On Friday of this week, Grande announced another split. 

The singer confirmed that she is taking a break from music as she told fans she's 'been through hell.' 

On May 22 last year, Ariana had to cope with the aftermath of the Manchester bombing at one of her concerts, which resulted in 23 deaths, including that of the suicide bomber.
