Confirming the news, the Board of Control for in (BCCI) said that Thakur would be replaced by pacer Umesh Yadav in the squad.

"The All-Senior Selection Committee has named Umesh Yadav as Shardul Thakur's replacement in India's squad for the first two ODIs against Windies. Mr Thakur suffered a right adductor and has been ruled out of the ODI series," the BCCI said in a statement.

Indian are slated to play a five-match ODI series against from October 21 to November 1.

The revised Indian squad for the first two ODIs against are as follows:
