'Dubbo is ready,' Mr Shield said on his Facebook page.
The mayor has been busy with his hosting duties - as the high-spirited community rally to prepare ahead of the royal meet-and-greet.
Every corner of the city has been filled with flags, colourful buntings, posters of the royal couple, cut-outs and giant welcoming signs.
Some businesses are planning to shut their doors for the day so their customers and staff members can enjoy the historic event.
