Financial emergency like situation in Punjab: Shankar
Ludhiana: Because of the financial mismanagement and corrupt governing system of the Capt.Amarinder Singh Government, the state was passing through financial emergency like situation and government could be unable to provide salaries to its staff in time in future.
This was stated by Spokesman of Aam Aadmi Party Punjab Darshan Singh Shankar in a press release issued here today. Shankar reacting on the recent unwanted press conference of Chief Minister Punjab Capt.Amrinder Singh held yesterday said that CM had failed to provide any solution to any of the burning issues of people. He strongly criticised the Chief Minister for squarely rejecting the genuine demands of agitating teachers, who had been asked to opt to work on 1/3rd salaries, if they want to get regular job, whereas, the struggling teachers had already completed a three years probation period and now has been compelled to resort to fast unto death. He said that the government had also failed to release 4 DA installments and revise salaries of employees according to the recommended by 7th Pay Commission of GoI and whole government staff has been forced to struggle to get their genuine rights.
Shankar said that the CM had also failed to provide any incentive or solution for the management of paddy straw in fields and farmers were not being provided any viable alternative to stop the burning straw, which can cause severe pollution in the region. He added that the Congress government had disappointed the farmers by backtracking from the complete waiver of agriculture loans, which was promised during elections. He also slammed Congress government for running from reducing VAT on petrol/diesel after the Union Government had given a relief of ₹2.50 per litre, which was already reduced by the neighbouring states, where petrol/ diesel was available cheaper than Punjab.
He said that Congress government had completely failed to fulfill any of the parameter of being a welfare government and proved much more cruel than the previous government of SAD-BJP combine, which had made huge corruption and looted state through mafia raj. He said that on side, Capt. government was citing poor financial condition as reason for failing to fulfill any promise made during elections and on other side it was resorting to foreign trips of big groups and giving huge salaries and perks to a large army of ODDs in CM office. He urged the government to lay main stress upon solving the genuine demands of people without any delay and not to test the patience of public.
