BENGALURU: A 22-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her rented house in Ejipura near Viveknagar on Sunday night, minutes after taking a selfie video in which she ‘repented her past follies’.
Ankita Poojar from Nepal was found dead by her husband, Sonu, when he returned home from work. However, after alerting police, Sonu went missing. Ankita worked with a housekeeping firm and had divorced her first husband about a year ago. The woman later married Sonu, who was also a divorcee.
Ankita stated in the video that no one was responsible for her death and she’s ending her life “because of the faults she had committed and for not listening to her parents’ advice.”
“I’m not able to forget that my first husband, who is staying in Bannerghatta, was such a good person. My parents advised me against divorcing him, but I didn’t listen to them. Now, I realise my fault and have decided to end my life. Nobody, including my present husband, Sonu, is responsible for my death,” she stated.
Police said Sonu fled fearing action after his wife’s suicide, but returned after coming to know she’d made no allegations against him.
