Ambala: Man booked for submitting forged documents to get passport

AMBALA: The district police have booked a resident identified as Rahul resident Moti Nagar, Ambala City, under various charges of IPC for obtaining a passport from Chandigarh office after submitting fake documents. As per the sources, this case has been finally registered after seven years.


A man had alleged and complained against the accused Rahul to the passport officer Arun K Chatterjee and Director General of Police. The matter via Headquarters reached Ambala, where the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) level officer in his inquiry report has found the allegations to be true. On the basis of inquiry, the Baldev Nagar police station team has registered a case against the accused Rahul under section 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), and 471 (using as genuine a forged document) of Indian Penal Code.


The man in his complaint stated that Rahul had submitted the fake certificate of class X and some other fake documents to the passport office in order to obtain a passport. This passport was issued from the Chandigarh office on November 14, 2011, and the documents submitted for it are found to be forged. The birth record of the accused is also not found in the Municipal Corporation record.


The inquiry report of the DSP has cleared that the passport has been obtained with forged documents.


Station house officer said, "We have registered the case and investigation is ongoing. So far the accused has not been arrested and further action will be taken once he is arrested.”
