Director Trinadha Rao Nakkina needs at least one point in a story to get excited and work on it, the script could take one year to be ready but it doesn’t bother him. After Nenu Local, he is coming up with Hello Guru Premakosame and this time too there has been a considerable gap. Explaining the reason for such durations, Trinadha says, “Writer Prasanna gave me a five-minute gist of this story and I liked it and we took one year to develop it. Mytri Movies banner got me to sign for them long back and I am still waiting for a script. If I wanted I could have directed three films in a row post Nenu Local. I realised directors aren’t able to maintain success rate as once their film becomes a hit, they will be flooded by calls from production houses and projects will take off based on dates and combinations. I was once a victim of this, after Memu Vayasuki Voccham released, I did two films in quick succession and didn’t work.”
Trinadha Rao has no background in films prior to Nenu local, and his family was shocked when he expressed his inclination to pursue a career in film. His vivid memory comes alive, “I noticed the family would be busy throughout the week and on a Sunday they would relax and review the film. By then I made up my mind to work in the movies.”
Trinadha Rao is aware that one needs to have a grip on the language but he on his part always considered emotions as a primary importance to a story. He avers, “If you don’t have good words to convey but emotions are strong, one will connect to the story for sure. A lot of people have said when emotions go overboard, stories don’t work. A story needs a right dose of any emotion, only then the audience is entertained.”
The director believes that the film should reach the audience at the grass roots and in the villages.
On his repeating the subject for his stories on mama-alludu, Trinadha smiles and says, “I am incapable of working on any other concept. It did effect me and I decided to keep away from the mama alludu theme but Dil Raju told me I should first make sure if I like the story or not before going ahead with a project. So I treated the same point differently with a beautiful message and only in the right measure. The climax is something you shouldn’t miss.” Trinadha Rao also reveals that he is surrounded by youngsters and his direction team comprises of young blood which is why there is a marked difference in each of his films. He adds, “See the difference between Mem vayasu ki voccham and Cinema Chupista Maava. You will wonder if I am the one who directed it. I don’t sit in coffee shops and write stories. I travel by buses and interact with people. I know their ideas well which is why my films work. I don’t see action films, I see drama.” The director finally winds up saying that the winning combination of Prasanna and Trinadha Rao will continue as long as they enjoy good rapport. Prasanna had even complimented him that Trinadha Rao is one director who never grabs credit for something he hasn’t done.
