Police hunt men over two separate bus sex assaults
Police are hunting two men after after a 17-year-old girl and 48-year-old woman were sexually assaulted in separate attacks on Melbourne's buses.
In the first attack, a man removed the girl's bag from the seat next to her, placed it on her lap, then sexually assaulted her.
Described as being of Middle Eastern appearance, he made “inappropriate conversation” with her in a heavy accent.
The girl had boarded the bus on Frawley Road in Hallam just before 2pm on September 17.
The man, believed to be aged in his 30s, with a receding hairline, got off the bus at a shopping centre on Overland Drive, Narre Warren.
He was wearing a black suit jacket and sunglasses.
In the second attack, a 48-year-old woman was on a bus on Patterson Street in Moonee Ponds around 2pm on October 5 when a man sexually assaulted her.
The woman tried to move away but the man, believed to be aged in his 40s, followed her to the front of the bus.
He continued to follow and harass her when she disembarked at the intersection of Sydney and Brunswick roads until she sought help from a member of the public.
The man, who also spoke with an accent, fled on foot along Sydney Road.
He is described as having olive complexion, short dark hair and a scar on his left cheek. He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.
