India secure 39-run win over SL in blind T20 match

Pune: Indian blind cricket team overcame the Sri Lankan challenge by 39 runs here in first game of the five match T20 series at the Nehru Stadium in the city on Monday.

Batting first, Indians put on 190 for 6 on the board in allotted 20 overs. Thanks to unbeaten half century from D Venkateswara. He got a good support from Durga who scored 27 runs.

In reply, visitors kept losing wickets at the regular intervals and could only manage 151 for 9. Durga also picked up two wickets giving away 24 runs.  The second game of the series will be played in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Brief Scores: India 190 for 6 in 20 overs (D Venkateswara 50*, Durga 27) bt Sri Lanka 151 for 9 in 20 overs (Silva 57, Durga 2/24).
