In her complaint in June, the nun had alleged the priest raped her and involved in unnatural sex .  However, the bishop denied the charges. The bishop was first arrested on September 22 and has been applying for bail since then. His first application for bail on October 3. was denied by the lower court. 

Later he applied for bail the second time on October 10 which was denied too. Following this he moved the Kerala High Court. The Kerala High Court granted bail following his application.
