Porn surfaces in Anand BJP unit’s WhatsApp group

Vadodara/ Anand: Pornography material being shared in WhatsApp group of Anand’s BJP unit has created a flutter in the party.
After some members of the group started sharing the pornographic material, the IT cell convenor of BJP’s Sojitra taluka, who is the group admin, has come under scanner. Sohan Patel, BJP’s social media convenor for Sojitra taluka, said that the presence of such material in the WhatsApp group has left him baffled.

“The party office-bearers had formed this group. Later, as district-wise groups were formed, other office-bearers had left while I continued to remain as group admin,” he said.

“It was only recently that it came to my notice that some unknown persons, who were already added in the group, were sharing such links. I had removed one of them later,” he said.

“But the flow of such pornographic materials continued in the group from other members whose cell phone numbers do not belong to India. I have removed them from the group today,” he said.

Patel said that he will take extra caution to avoid such embarrassment for the party. “Now, only those members who are known to us are part of the group,” he said.
