Illegal liquor factory busted in Ambala, 1 held

AMBALA: A team of Excise and Taxation department along with the Saha police unearthed an illegal liquor factory in the industrial area of Saha. During the raid, the team recovered illegal liquor in large quantity along with modern machinery, raw material, empty bottles, labels, and drums from the spot.
The team arrested one Davinder Bagga of Samalkha while two of his accomplices managed to escape. So far, the team has recovered 1145 boxes containing 1670 boxes of country-made liquor and raw material in large quantity.
Saha station house officer, inspector Munish Kumar said, “We had received the information from the Excise officials to conduct a raid at a factory in Saha industrial areas. So far we have not registered any First Information Report in this case as the factory is having the large quantity of illicit liquor and other material used for preparing the liquor. The Excise Department teams are calculating the seizure and once the process is complete, further action will be taken accordingly. As of now, we cannot disclose all the details and relevant action as per law will surely be taken once the process of counting is complete.”
