This Nissan GT-R Was So Loud That It Got Banned From The Nurburgring Track

It may be one of the oldest cars in production, but the Nissan GT-R still has what it takes in order to give drivers an adrenaline rush on the track and beyond.

With a little know-how and enough money in the bank, it can easily become an even more potent beast. Some owners have gone as far drastically modifying the powertrain and bodywork of the Japanese supercar, such as the one depicted on film below.

The Nissan GT-R in question reportedly has 760 horsepower, a set of street legal semi-slick tires and a very loud exhaust system. The video uploader, who’s also the person driving the Porsche 911 GT2 RS that followed Godzilla for a lap at the Nurburgring, says that said GT-R is no longer street legal, due to the extensive mods it has received.

Moreover, it’s apparently not track-legal either, because after only a couple of laps around the Green Hell, it was banned for being too loud. The exhaust system reportedly produces 134 decibels, and that’s actually more than a military jet aircraft during take-off from an aircraft carrier, with afterburner.

With the entire bundle of upgrades up and running, this Nissan GT-R is about as fast as a stock Porsche 911 GT2 RS. And that’s a compliment, given that the latter goes from naught to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.8 seconds, and used to be the King of the ‘Ring, until the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ arrived.
