LUCKNOW: Two snakes were found in the washrooms of Lucknow University boys' hostel on early Sunday sending hostellers into a frenzy.
Angry hostellers took to social media to complain about LU apathy towards students' security and upkeep of boys' hostels.
The snakes were found in two washrooms of the Mahmudabad hostel.
The inmates distributed pamphlets and posted warning on the washrooms of the hostel to alert inmates before they use the washroom.
"When I went to the washroom on early Sunday, I noticed a some motion in the pothole. Initially, I thought it must be a frog or an insect but when I took a closer look I saw a snake," said BA student Vivek Mishra. "I flushed water and ran to alert other hostellers. Soon another snake was found in another washroom," he added. Meanwhile, LU authorities said all the rooms will be inspected and the required measures will be taken on Monday. "Every year, hostels and its surroundings are inspected to assure that they are safe for students. It would be inspected again by the authorities and all measures will be taken so that the students don't face any such problem," said vice-chancellor SP Singh.
