To inspire students, Goa Board to upload top scorers’ answersheets on its website

PANAJI: It was around a century ago that an examiner, correcting the answersheet of future first president of India Rajendra Prasad, remarked “examinee knows better than examiner”. This ‘model’ answersheet was then preserved as an example for other students to follow.
Now, the Porvorim-based Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has similar plans.
The board is set to upload on its website answersheets of top-scoring students at the Class X and XII state exams. The board hopes that these answersheets help other students to achieve the perfect score as well.
“Seeing these answersheets, other students will learn how best to answer in a particular subject and see where and what helped top scorers to get cent per cent marks,” said Goa board chairman Ramkrishna Samant.
The board is planning to upload such answersheets from the 2018 board exams within a month’s time, so that students who are going to face the March/April 2019 state exams can benefit. Between 35,000 to 39,000 answer the Class X and XII Goa Board exams every year and are set to benefit from this move.
As of now, the board only uploads question papers with answer keys from the previous years’ board exams.
