DP Motorsport’s Speedy Irishman Is Germany’s Answer To Singer

Like your Porsche with a bit of classic flair? Singer‘s not the only one that can hook you up. So can, among others, DP Motorsport, which customized this rather stunning 911.

Like Singer, DP started with a ’90s-era 964 that was the second generation of the iconic German sports car, but made it to look more like an original first-gen 911.

To that end, it decked it out in a deep shade of Irish Green, fitted 17-inch Fuchs alloys, chromed all the trim, and refitted the interior with brown leather and houndstooth upholstery, Recaro buckets, a Momo steering wheel wrapped (like the dashboard) in black Alcantara, a layered wooden shift knob, and a Porsche Classic 3.5-inch navigation screen.

The project called the Speedy Irishman is not all old-school, though. DP Motorsport also widened the track with carbon-Kevlar fenders, upgraded the suspension with KW Clubsport coilover shocks and Unibal strut bearings. And as you might expect, it upgraded the engine, too: the 3.8-liter flat six produces 321 horsepower (239 kW), channeled to the Michelin Pilot Sport rubber through a five-speed manual gearbox.

So while it may look like a classic Elfen, it ought to embarrass that newer Carrera your lawyer’s been tooling around in. And it can be yours, but that combination of old-school looks and new muscle doesn’t come cheap. Motor1 reports that the Speedy Irishman is up for sale with an asking price of 198,000 euros (or about $230k at current exchange rates).

That’d be enough scratch to put you in any version of the latest 991 short of the GT2 RS. So you’re gonna have to really like the custom approach to justify the sticker.
