TNN | Oct 16, 2018, 04:00 ISTVadodara: Dahod mamlatdar and a computer operator from his office landed in the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) net on Monday. The raid was conducted by sleuths from Ahmedabad after they received a complaint.
Mamlatdar or executive magistrate Dinesh Patel and computer operator Adnan Vohra were nabbed following a complaint that the duo had sought a bribe of Rs 31,000 from a citizen who had bought land in Dahod. The buyer wanted that his name should be included in the revenue records for the land.
The mamlatdar initially took an instalment of Rs 75,000 for the job and Rs 51,000 was to be paid later. The officer asked the complainant to deposit Rs 20,000 in his bank account and the complainant did so.
The complainant was to pay the last instalment of Rs 31,000 for the bribe on Monday, but approached the ACB that laid a trap. When the complainant went with the money to Patel, the official discussed the issue with his computer operator and then accepted the bribe. Sleuths nabbed him red-handed along with the bribe money.
