Two Rajpipla youngsters die in expressway accident

Vadodara: Two youngsters from Rajpipla town of Narmada district died on the spot after their car collided with a trailer on Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway on Sunday evening.
The youngsters were returning from temple town Ambaji where their families and friends had gone to offer prayers as part of the ongoing Navratri festival. According to police sources, the youngsters, most of them residents of Ramdas faliya (lane) of Rajpipla had planned a trip to Ambaji.

The group included Pinkesh Patel, his cousin Swet Patel, Swapnil Patel and two other family friends.

When the car in which they were travelling reached near Samarkha crossroads near Anand, the car driver tried to overtake from wrong side, police said.


“But the driver got harried when he saw a vehicle and turned on the second track due to which the car collided and rammed into the rear side of a trailer,” said an official.


After the accident, two youngsters Swet Patel and Swapnil Patel died on the spot while three others got injured.


The 108 emergency ambulance service which reached the spot rushed the three injured to Nadiad civil hospital while Anand rural police too rushed to the spot. Two of three injured are said to have received severe injuries.
