Police investigate 'suspicious' Thomastown factory fire
A fire that gutted a factory in Melbourne's north is being treated as suspicious.
Firefighters were called to the blaze on Lipton Drive shortly before 7pm on Sunday night.
They arrived to find a large, single-story factory fully alight, shrouded in thick smoke and with flames pouring out of the roof.
Firefighters donned breathing apparatus, cut through several locations to gain access to the building and brought the fire under control within 30 minutes.
No one was inside the building at the time, but the fire was being treated as suspicious.
Police arson chemists are expected to investigate the scene on Monday morning.
