Vadodara: A family from Dahod that was travelling back from Vadodara was assaulted and robbed by a gang near Kamboi village in Limkheda taluka on Saturday midnight.
Robbers had laid sharp small-sized stones on road to deflate the car’s tyres.

Victim Salim Kunjda, who lives near Yash Market in Dahod, was passing by the village with his family in the car. They had to stop the car when all tyres of the car were deflated on a deserted road. As all members of the family got out of the car, around 10 to 12 men with iron rods came out from nearby bushes. Before the family could understand anything, some of the robbers held Kunjda and his son Sarfaraz, while others tried to snatch their bags.

When they tried to resist, the robbers thrashed them. After robbing his bag containing cash and gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 1.2 lakh, the robbers disappeared into the bushes.

Kunjda called police control room to inform about the incident and Sarfaraz was taken to Ahmedabad for treatment.

Sources said that a truck had passed from that road before Kunjda and its tyres too got deflated. However, the truck driver did not stop and continued to drive till he reached a nearby police outpost.
