PROVIDENCE -- The Providence Bruins scored three times in 2:22 late in the third period to make a game of it, but the Hartford Wolf Pack held on for a 4-3 win at the Dunkin' Donuts Center on Saturday night.
Taking advantage of mistakes by the P-Bruins, Hartford jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Ryan Gropp at 14:26 and Lias Andersson at 17:52 while the Wolf Pack were shorthanded.

Taking advantage of mistakes by the P-Bruins, Hartford jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Ryan Gropp at 14:26 and Lias Andersson at 17:52 while the Wolf Pack were shorthanded.
Michael Lindqvist extended Hartford's lead to 3-0 at 14:47 of the second period, and former Providence College defenseman John Gilmour made it 4-0 with an unassisted goal at 4:25 of the third period.
Providence's Zach Senyshyn put Providence on the board with a power play goal with 2:27 left in the game.
Colby Cave brought the P-Bruins within two by scoring at 18:02, then Anton Blidh made it a one-goal game by scoring with 15 seconds left, but that's as close as Providence could get.
Marek Mazanec made 26 saves for the Wolf Pack. Dan Vladar stopped 26 shots for Providence.
The P-Bruins play at Springfield at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
