Under M.P.’s RESCO project, National Law Institute University (NLIU) located in Bhopal would get solar power at first year rate of Rs.1.76 per unit. MP has achieved spectacular bid results with its innovative solar rooftop RESCO program. This has laid down path for fast track adoption of solar rooftops in India. Principal secretary new and renewable energy department Manu Shirvastava said the rate of Rs.1.76 can be compared to Rs.7.40 per unit at which NLIU is presently getting its power.
“The discovered rate is less than one fourth of the present rate,” he added. The rate would increase by 3 percent per annum and would thus double to Rs.3.57 at the end of project life of 25 years, which would still be less than half of the present DISCOM rate. The request for proposal for rooftop solar power at NLIU, Bhopal, and other buildings of Central Government organizations, has been won by M/s AMP Solar, New Delhi. Power purchase agreement (PPA) between NLIU and AMP Solar was signed in the presence of director NLIU V.Vijayakumar, Manu Srivastava, registrar of NLIU Giribala Singh, SE MP urja vikas nigam S.Deshmukh, and director AMP Solar New Delhi Prakash Rai.
