Five people run over by speeding train in Bihar

BHABHUA: Five persons were run over by a speeding train when they were trying to cross over the track in Bihar's Kaimur district on Friday.

The incident occurred when the victims were trying to cross the railway track on Bhabhua road station after alighting from Varanasi-Ranchi Intercity Express.

They did not see Lalkuan Express was coming in speed on the other track they were trying to walk over and were run over, Mugalsarai divisional railway manager (DRM) Pankaj Saxena said.


Mughalsarai division forms part of East Central Railway (ECR) zone whose headquarter is in Hajipur in Bihar.


Lalkuan express was on its way to Gorakhpur from Howrah when the incident occurred.


The identities of the deceased could not be ascertained so far, Saxena said.
