Mumbai: Kalki, as described in Hindu mythology as the 10th avatar of Lord Vishnu, is slated to appear at the end of the ongoing Kaliyug on his white steed, wielding a fiery sword to vanquish adharma and usher in the age of truth. But even before that Vishnu’s 11th avatar has manifested for spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Avdhoot Wagh. He claims, PM Narendra Modi is the 11th avatar of Vishnu.
On Friday, Wagh tweeted, “Yada Yada hi Dharmasya, Hon’ PM Narendra Modiji is the 11th avatar of Lord Vishnu.” The Opposition has dubbed this as an attempt to cover the government’s under-performance. Wagh further elucidated, in the Hindu pantheon, there are around 33 million gods and the Panchamahabhutas (five elements – Prithvi, Akash, Jal, Vayu, Agni), which are the basis of all creation, according to Hindu philosophy.
Wagh said, “We also consider ‘Bharatmata’ as a goddess and ‘the dedication with which Modiji is serving ‘Bharatmata’ as pradhan sevak, he is like a God to us.” “It is because of this I have called him the ‘11th avatar of Lord Vishnu’,” he explained. Jitendra Awhad, legislator of the opposing Nationalist Congress Party, rubbished Wagh’s declaration, saying there was no need to take him seriously.
