YEIDA CEO to manage affairs of nodal company for Jewar airport

GREATER NOIDA: The CEO of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), Arun Vir Singh, has assumed additional charge of Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL), an entity floated by the Uttar Pradesh government for implementing the Jewar airport project.
Singh, who had been asked on August 28 to assume the additional responsibility as NIAL’s CEO, took charge on Saturday. He will be the key facilitator to float tenders related to airport project and choose concessionaires on behalf of the government. He will work in close coordination with NIAL chairman Anoop Chandra Pandey.
“I have taken over charge as CEO of NIAL from today. This is an additional responsibility along with that as the YEIDA CEO,” Singh said. He added that the authorised capital of NIAL was Rs 10,000 crore.
Singh said as CEO of NIAL, he has to manage the affairs of the company and also take decisions regarding financial agreements along with Pandey.
“My role will be to prepare documents related to bids and concessionaires and also float tenders following series of meetings. I will also look into the final selection of concessionaires and ensure finances within the stipulated time. NIAL will work together with the selected company for all airport-related matters on behalf of the state government,” Singh told TOI.
NIAL was established under the Indian Companies Act, 2013, on August 28 this year to implement the airport project. Its first annual general meeting was held on September 25.
Singh, a 1987-batch UP civil service officer and an IAS since 2005, has worked in various capacities, among them are director of Handlooms and Handicrafts Export Corporation under textile ministry, additional commissioner trade tax, UP government, additional commissioner of NCR Planning Board, additional CEO, Noida Authority and YEIDA CEO.
