PANAJI: A body of a 24-year-old woman, who was raped and murdered, was found at the helipad at Dhauji in Old Goa on Wednesday.
Police are clueless about the identity of the accused and have formed 18 teams to solve the case.

The deceased has been identified as Sonia Jaswal, a resident of Dhauji, police said. Jaswal lived with her parents.

Police said they received a call on Wednesday informing them about a body lying at the helipad.

The body was sent to Goa Medical College for postmortem, police said, adding that they had initially registered a case of unnatural death, but with the postmortem report confirming that the deceased was raped before she was killed, an offence was registered under Sections 376 (rape) and 302 (murder) of the IPC against unknown persons.

The postmortem was conducted on Thursday and police received the report on Friday.
