Guwahati: 4 injured in low intensity blast

GUWAHATI: At least four persons were injured in a low intensity blast that rocked Guwahati at around 11.55am on Saturday. Those injured were walking by the wall behind which the bomb was believed to have been kept.


The blast was reported from Mahatma Gandhi Road which runs parallel to the banks of Brahmaputra river and close to the northeastern region’s commercial area, Fancy Bazar.


“We are yet to identify the injured. Their condition is serious and they have been rushed to Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital,” police said. On Thursday, police had issued an alert and tightened security in the run-up to the Durga Puja.
