Andhra CM requests PM of helping Cyclone Titli hit AP

VISAKHAPATNAM: Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to financially help north Andhra Pradesh which was wrought by deadly cyclonic storm Titli on October 11.
Naidu requested Prime Minister immediately release Rs 1200 crores as an interium relief at the earliest for fast revival of the cyclone hit areas in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts.
In a letter to Prime Minister on Friday, the chief minister Naidu said that the cost of damages to agriculture, infrastructure among others have been tentatively worked out to be around Rs 2800 crores.
The loss include Rs 1000 crores from Horticulture, Rs 800 crores agriculture, Rs 500 crores electricity, Rs 100 crores roads and building etc.
The state government already engaged by mobilising all its resources for the rescue and relief operations, Naidu said.
"I am personally camping in Srikakulam district's cyclone affected areas to oversee the restoration works" Naidu said.
