Ten more people were arrested by the Crime Branch police on Friday for allegedly spreading hate messages against migrants from UP and Bihar through the social media.
Thirty-two people have been arrested so far, the Cyber Cell sleuths informed, adding details of around 150 people who were spreading aggressive posts, videos and messages against migrants are being scanned.
Hate messages such as 'Kick migrants out of Gujarat'. Around 150 videos have been listed wherein people are spreading rumours and threatening migrants to leave the state.
"We have seen the several posts and videos, but the count has fallen since last few days. It is not just happening on Facebook but also on other social media like Twitter, Youtube," a senior officer crime branch official said.
Several hate messages, videos and posts that have been doing the rounds over last one week have been pulled out of the social media. The Cyber Cell of the Crime Branch has asked social media authorities to take down the posts which are provoking people. Almost 30 videos and messages have been taken down and the process is going on for the rest.
