AGRA: In a joint operation by local intelligence unit and Sikandara police of Agra district, three alleged illegal immigrants of Bangladesh were arrested here on Friday.
Identified as Saeedullah Ghazi (42), native of Baigasa village of Khulna district in Bangladesh along with wife Ratna (40) and son Samim (22) were arrested on Friday late night from Runkata here with four Aadhar cards, one Pan card, one Voter ID and one SBI bank account proof.
An FIR was lodged against them on Saturday morning under IPC section 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 467 (Forgery of valuable security, will, etc), 468 (Forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (Using a forged document as genuine) and Foreign Citizen Act Sections 2, 13 and 14.
Police have also detained three more children of Saeedullah who were born in India. One of them (daughter) is a student of class ten, a boy studies in class four, while the youngest one is four-year-old.
According to police, Saeedullah Ghazi illegally crossed Indo-Bangladesh border 15 years ago with his wife and son, and stayed for a brief period in Kolkata. Later, he moved to Mathura for better job opportunities and subsequently to Agra eight years back.
“In Agra he started scrap business on a rented farm land and even bought two pick-up trucks and a mini truck to expand his business. From scrap he earned enough money to buy two properties in Agra and Kolkata,” said station house officer of Sikandara Ajay Kaushal.
Hiredesh Katheria, circle officer of LIU Agra unit said, “Saeedullah Ghazi managed to obtain Aadhar, Pan, Voter ID and bank account by forging documents. We are also scanning documents of a few more suspects who were living in Runkata, but have left for Delhi. We will now contact Bangladesh high commission and share the details of arrested illegal immigrants in order to initiate the deportation procedure.”
