Four-yr-old mowed down by truck
TNN | Oct 14, 2018, 04:00 ISTVadodara: A speeding truck rammed a family of three going on a bike, leaving a four-year-old girl dead and her mother grievously injured.
The girl’s father, however, escaped unhurt. The accident happened on GIDC Road in Makarpura early on Saturday morning. Ajay Solanki, a driver of a door-to-door garbage collection van and his wife Pooja were going to work taking their daughter Dixita along.
When they were passing by GIDC Road, a truck coming from Manjalpur direction knocked them down. The impact of the collision was so severe that the girl and her mother were flung away and the truck driver drove over them. He abandoned the truck and fled from the spot.
Dixita died on the spot while Pooja was rushed to SSG Hospital for treatment. Later, Solanki registered a case of rash driving and causing death due to negligence at Manjalpur police station.
Police said that they will track down the truck driver on the basis of the vehicle’s registration number.
