Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) transported 13,686,440 passengers in the first nine months of 2018 – an increase of 6.5% on the same period last year. The company operated a total of 109,112 flights in the January-to-September period, up 2.6% year-on-year. Nine-month systemwide capacity was raised 4.0% in available seat-kilometre (ASK) terms. Traffic volume for the period, measured in revenue passenger-kilometres (RPK), rose 5.3%. Nine-month systemwide seat load factor improved accordingly, rising one percentage point to 84.0%.
SWISS carried 1,621,020 travellers in September 2018, a 7.1% improvement on the same month last year. The 12,621 flights operated for the month were a 5.1% increase on September 2017. Systemwide ASK capacity for the month was up 4.4%, while systemwide RPK traffic volume was raised 6.6%. September seat load factor amounted to 86.5%, a year-on-year improvement of 1.8 percentage points.
