Congress tears into BJP for violating Model Code Of Conduct


Ujjain : District Congress condemned Bharatiya Janata Party for violation of electoral Modal Code of Conduct (EMCC) and alleged that the BJP party workers started door to door canvassing and distributed pamphlets mentioning government welfare schemes. Congress also lodged a complaint at collector office that Bharatiya Janata Party started maha jansampark abhiyan and contacted city dwellers in view of upcoming assembly election. The party workers stuck stickers on walls houses of the areas. Congress party also wrote an objection letter in this context to Election commission.

UMC closes Pradhanmantri Awas mela office Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) closed the Paradhan Mantri awas mela after objections were raised by Congress. According to Congress spokesperson Vivek Gupta UMC was displaying PM Narendra Modi’s portrait in the mela which is a violation of EMCC. He alleged that UMC is using government premises to promote such schemes which may woo voters. Gupta lodged a complaint with the collector and said that BJP was advertising its voter wooing schemes through Ujjain Municipal Corporation and it is a violation of EMCC, thereafter collector Manish Singh ordered UMC to close the Pradhan mantri awas mela office.

Election commission also banned the Sambal Yojana of the state government after the objection Congress party; however some people are opposing the ban imposed on the welfare schemes. BJP to continue maha jansampark abhiyan BJP district media in-charge Virendra Kale told that party will continue its Mahajansamparak Abhiyan in all the 54 wards of the city. Party’s Mahajansampark started from Thursday in which Babulal Jain, district in-charge Nemichand Jain, district BJP head Vivek Joshi, energy minister Paras Jain, mayor Meena Jonwal and MLA Mohan Yadav were also present. RaGa gives free hand to Soni According to district Congress spokesperson Vivek Gupta, Congress national head Rahul Gandhi talked to district Congress head Mahesh Soni and took the stock of organisation at district level. During his conversation with Gandhi, the national head gave free hand to Soni to take any decision regarding the organisation.
