MP Assembly elections 2018: 3.44 lakh Property defacement cases registered in five days


More than 3.44 lakh cases of property defacement registered and more than 63 thousand weapons deposited in police stations in last five days. The Chief Electoral Officer V.L. Kanta Rao said that to maintain law and order in state 321 illegal weapons have been confiscated and 63,510 weapons have been deposited in the police stations from October 6 to 10, after the Model Code of Conduct came into effect.

During this period 3,874 non-bailable warrants have been served and restrictive action has been taken against 8,715 people.
A total of 3,44,477 cases under the property defacement have been registered in the state. Action has been taken in the total 3.26 lakh cases out of these cases.

Action has been taken in 2.68 lakh out of the total 2. 75 lakh registered cases of government property defacement and in 58,187 cases out of a total 68,537 registered cases of private property defacement. Further, 874 cases of vehicles’ misuse have been registered.
