NEW DELHI: Congress Friday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to sack Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani for failing to check the violence against migrants even as it showed purported videos of saffron legislators giving provocative speeches.

Playing the videos, senior Gujarat leader and AICC spokesman Shaktisinh Gohil alleged that BJP leaders were part of a conspiracy to fuel attacks against migrants from Hindi heartland following the rape of an infant girl.

Gohil said not only did BJP's Himmatnagar MLA make provocative speech, he also met and congratulated the Thakor Sena president when he was released on bail. Talking about a reference to "Vijay bhai" in the speech, Gohil said it was the CM that the MLA spoke about.

The Congress in-charge of Bihar affairs said BJP follows "divide and rule" policy and then blames Congress. "CM Vijay Rupani should be sacked immediately for his constitutional failures. PM Modi should speak up and apologise to the people," Gohil said.
