Bhopal: CBSE extends passing criteria for class X students

The Central Board of Secondary Education has decided to extend the passing criteria for the Class X students. The Board in its notification issued on Thursday, stated that it had been decided to exempt Class X students from separate pass criteria in internal assessment and Board examination. The decision would also cover the candidates appearing for Class X examination in 2019 onwards.

Now they have to secure overall 33% (both taken together i.e internal assessment and Board examination) in the subjects to be eligible to pass that subject. The result would be computed in each subject taking into account the total marks secured in internal assessment and Board examination. Those obtaining 33% marks would be declared pass.

Earlier, the Board in February, 2018, had made the same provision for the students of 2017-18 Batch appearing in Class X Board examination as one-time measure. This measure was taken considering the fact that the students of 2017-18 were coming from a different assessment background.
