Three girls drowned while bathing in the Narmada river in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh Friday, police said.
Vinita (16) and Kajal Kushwaha (12), both hailing from Bhopal, and Payal (13) from Vidisha district drowned in the river in a village under Rehati police station limits, district police chief Rajesh Chandel said.
The girls had come to the river bank with a family from Pachadia village in the district, he said.
The bodies were retrieved and autopsies have been completed while further probe is on, Chandel said.
