NOIDA: Three men were arrested in Friday for shooting at a bookseller inside his shop in Barola on Thursday. The bookseller, identified as Anil Kumar Gupta, is a resident of the village. Doctors said that his condition is critical.
The three arrested men have been identified as Vishal (20), the main accused and his accomplices, Ajay (38) and Sandeep (25). A 14-year-old boy, involved in the murder, has not been detained yet.
“During questioning, the accused told that the conflict started two months back. The Noida Authority was laying the Ganga pipe line in Barola village, but Anil’s family were not in favour of the digging work in front of his house because the sewer line would have been affected due to digging. That’s why the pipe line did not installed and the accused could not get Ganga water in their house. A village panchayat also tried to resolve the issue but failed,” said Anita Chauhan, SHO of Sector 49 police station.
