NAVI MUMBAI: An FIR has been registered on the direction of a Panvel court against two directors of Lodha Developers and 11 others for allegedly usurping a plot in a Panvel village without the consent of the land owner, a 67-year-old woman, Janabai Pawashe.

The complainant had approached the court of Panvel's judicial magistrate first class, alleging that the accused had connived with officials at the sub-registrar's office in 2012 and forged power of attorney to fraudulently register a sale deed on her ancestral property. As per the complaint, the accused had in 2012 bought 20 gunthas of agricultural land in Nitlas village from Ganesh and Madhukar Pawashe, who are related to Janabai, the complainant, by paying Rs 4 lakh, keeping over Rs 10 lakh pending. The two sold their land as they were in dire need of money. As per Janabai, the accused usurped an adjacent plot, which was her share.

"The allegations are false. The complainant, along with all members of her family had executed the agreement and a power of attorney on February 20, 2007. The documents in question are duly registered. The allegations of the documents being fraudulent are, therefore, false and hence denied. We shall present these facts and material before the police," said a spokesperson of Lodha Developers. The firm has a registered office in Lodha Heaven, Dombivli.

"We registered the FIR after receiving the court's order under section 156 (3) of the Criminal Procedure Code (which confers such powers on a court)," said senior inspector Ajay Landge of Taloja police station.
