VADODARA: It seemed like a scene straight from a Bollywood flick near Diwalipura crossroads when several policemen were chasing a man who allegedly tried to pass marijuana to an undertrial on Thursday afternoon.

As cops were taking some undertrials back to jail from the district court complex, some of their relatives followed them on bike. When the police van stopped at the crossroads, two persons tried to pass a small packet to one undertrial. However, he was spotted by police and a woman lawyer.

The man got alarmed and started running on Old Padra Road and the cops too chased him on foot. The female lawyer also followed them in her car. Meanwhile, she called police control room to inform about some ruckus near Malhar Point. As the man turned towards Gadapura from Malhar Point, policemen managed to nab him.

The lawyer said that she found the activity of the man suspicious and therefore followed him. An assistant sub-inspector said that while running on road, the man threw a knife and several other things on the side so that even when he is nabbed, nothing can be found from him.

Later, he was handed over to Gotri police station. However, until late night cops had not registered a case against the man.
