Amit Shah offers prayer at Mansa

BJP chief Amit Shah visited his ancestral village Mansa in north Gujarat region on Thursday. Shah, who reached here with his family to celebrate Navratri, offered pooja at the Durga temple.

Shah's arrival in Gujarat during the high time of incidents of violence against migrants was believed to be significant. The visit, however, remained apolitical and the leader avoided to meet any politician during his stay.

Shah arrived in the morning and stayed at home in Thaltej for the whole day. A leader close to Shah said, "He did not wish to meet any leader because this was purely a social visit and he wanted to keep his one-day trip limited to family affairs. He is religious by nature and has deep faith in Amba Ma. He visited Mansa and Rupal villages where the famous temples of the goddess are located."

"He had informed the leaders in Gujarat not to hold any meeting during his stay. He would leave early morning on Friday for Odisha." Amit Shah visits his ancestral village Mansa every year during Navratri festival. He also visited the temple even after he was made BJP president and stayed in New Delhi.
