300 artisans to sell handicrafts in trade fair from today

Noida: The International Trade Expo Centre will organise its first 10-day Delhi International Trade Fair (DITF) at the expo centre in Sector 62 from Friday. Several MSMEs, small scale industries, handloom weavers, handicraft artisans and others will participate. The organisers are expecting a footfall of over 50,000 from October 12 to 21.
Jai Manish Sharma, director, expo centre, said the DITF aims to promote ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi by bringing small and large enterprises under one roof. He said that the event offers an opportunity to participating organisations to interact with potential customers and promote business and development. Over 300 participants from UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, Punjab, Telangana, Odisha, Karnataka, etc. would participate in the event.

A Global Mobile Conference will also be organised on Friday afternoon with participants Sunita G R, head of marketing Facebook India, Saurabh Jain, vice-president Paytm, Guneet Singh, head of marketing Google India, etc. The programme is supported by Noida Authority and Noida Entrepreneurship Association (NEA).

NEA president Vipin Malhan said that it is a good initiative to showcase the indigenous products to the customers. “Noida has grown as an industrial hub in NCR with over 10,000 units. The businessmen and industrialists earlier showcased their products in trade fairs at Pragati Maidan. The trade fair in Noida will surely help the business and also the local people who will get diverse products under one roof,” he said.

Union minister Mahesh Sharma will inaugurate the programme at 10 am. There will also be cultural programmes and dance performances in the evening. Haryanvi dancer and Bigg Boss participant Sapna Chaudhury will also perform in the event on October 17, said the organiser.
