Want A 1986 Honda CRX In All Original Condition? Here’s One With Just 8,000 Miles

What are the odds of finding a Honda CRX in original condition-and with low miles today? Very small, given that the vast majority of surviving examples carry tuning scars and/or come with several digits on their odometer .

Well, if you’re a CRX fan, today might be your lucky day. We’ve come across a completely original 1986 CRX with just 8,045 miles (12,947 km) on the odometer.

The owner, who presents himself as a CRX collector, doesn’t explain why the car has covered such a short distance in 32 years. He does say he never drives the car for long lengths, though. In the eBay ad, the seller describes the CRX as having an “immaculate” interior. It certainly looks like that in the photos.

As for the bodywork, it’s described as being “in tremendous shape” for a 32-year-old car. Still, there are some cracked panels, despite the fact that the CRX has been kept garaged and covered during its lifetime.

The most visible cracks are at the front, but the seller says the car has never been wrecked or modified. Other imperfections include some “minor blemishes” to the body, small rust patches, as well as fading paint on top of the cab. The engine hood seems resprayed, but the ad says nothing about that.

Chances are all of these problems can be solved with some TLC, and the buyer who does that will end up with a true time capsule. Just look at those rims, cassette player, steering wheel. They’re all original.

There’s one more minor problem with the car: the gas gauge doesn’t function all the time. Considering that the CRX is said to return “upwards of 50 mpg,” that shouldn’t be a setback, though.
