India could face stiffer challenge from the visitors in the second Test.

West Indies captain Jason Holder won the toss and elected to bat first in the second Test against India in Hyderabad on Friday.

West Indies made two changes to its side that lost the first Test at Rajkot. Jason Holder comes in place of Keemo Paul while Jomel Warrican replaces Sheman Lewis.

For India, Shardul Thakur made his debut in Tests. He replaces Mohammad Shami.

West Indian cricketers are still known for their flashes of flamboyance and brilliance. But what the Jason Holder-led team will strive for is consistency in all departments when it takes on India in the second Test at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium here on Friday.

If the body language during their training session is any indication, the West Indians’ mood is not certainly despondent. They could afford a few smiles and crack a few jokes, suggesting that they are confident.

It is never easy for a visiting side to change the course of a two-match series after a disastrous start in India. But the visitors did not seem dispirited and, in fact, happy with the return of Holder and Kemar Roach for the game.
