AICC president to address two meetings

In the first election in rally in Telangana, All India Congress Committee president Rahul Gandhi will address two meetings on October 20.

Party sources said that the first meeting would be held in Boath in Adilabad district in the morning and later at Kamareddy town in the evening. Mr. Gandhi, who has been aggressive levelling corruption allegations on the Rafale deal is likely go hard at caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and the TRS’s rule in the last four years.

“Mr. Gandhi’s aggression on various issues in the country in the last two years has brought a huge change among the youth and the neglected sections and they are rooting for Congress,” said Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Shabbir Ali, who is likely to be the candidate from Kamareddy constituency.

According to Adilabad Congress Committee working president Naresh Jadhav, the venue for the public meeting would be decided shortly. A lot of interest will be generated with regard to the visit as all sections of society will expect the top Congress leader to spell out his party’s stance vis-a-vis the ongoing conflict between aboriginal and Lambada tribes in the State.

This will be the fourth visit of Mr. Gandhi to Telangana since its formation. The first one had come in May 2015 when he visited some villages in Nirmal constituency as part of his Kisan Sandesh Yatra wherein he called upon families of farmers who had committed suicide. Last year he addressed a public meeting at Sangareddy and recently addressed a few meetings in Hyderabad including interactions with women groups, intellectuals, businessmen and journalists.
