Bengaluru-headquartered urban infrastructure development company Karle Infra has mooted a mixed-use development project – Karle Town Centre at Hebbal, which according to its Vice-President and Head (Design) Senoj Alexander could eventually be looked upon as a landmark project in India.

He told BusinessLine over phone that the company has proposed to develop many more sustainable projects across the country.

“We are working on urban rejuvenation programme on the 70 acres of land near Hebbal flyover. We had earlier envisioned developing it as a sustainable community project, but in 2016, we partnered with a company in the Netherlands to make this (Karle Town Centre) a landmark project in India. The project, which is expected to thrive on sustainable footprint, is scheduled to be completed by 2025,” he said.

“We have planned 10 million sq ft built- area, another 4.4 million sq ft apportioned for IT Special Economic Zone (SEZ) office space, residential apartments in around 2 million sq feet .We have completed 20 per cent of this project and another 20 per cent is under construction,” he said in reply to a question,” he added.

Alexander said the jewel of this project would be the culture theatre, with 1,500 seats. While he was reluctant to share investment details, he said the company has considerable land bank and is looking at developing sustainable communities in B-towns.

“We are looking at places such as Mangalore, Goa, Kochi, Hyderabad and Chennai among others,” he said.
